John Deere 7220 MFWD move problem

John Deere 7220 Problems

I have a John Deere 7220 MFWD move problem with a left hand reverser and it stopped going forward, but it backed up fine. Any idea what could cause this? I just checked and cleared the codes and there is a code that keeps coming back. It is an EPC code 306061 and below this is a 31 and below it is a 001.

The EPC fault code you are receiving is saying that the baud rate is too low. In short, you have not seen the movement when you have commanded the tractor to move.

  • Most of the time this is caused by the feed control valve wiring being pulled out.
  • It can also be caused by the advance control valve sticking.

The solenoid is located on the front of the transmission with wire numbers 579 and 310 going to it (printed on the wires). If you find it plugged in and you have an ohmmeter you can test the solenoid. You should have between 10-20 ohms of resistance across the two pins on the solenoid.
